On August 26, 2022, the third representative conference of the China Packaging Federation Science and Technology Committee was officially held in Scholars Hotel, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. The conference was hosted by Zhengyang Hu, the Deputy Secretary-General and Industry Minister of the China Packaging Federation. Participants included Xueshan Han , the Vice President and Executive Secretary-General of the China Packaging Federation, Zhengbiao Gu , the Vice President of Jiangnan University, Changfan Zhang , the former Vice President of Hunan University of Technology, Guangxue Chen , the Principal of light industry at the South China University of Technology and a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, and Junhua Zhao, the Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Jiangnan University. Lingbo Qu, vice president of Zhengzhou University, Fayun Gong, vice president of Hubei University of Technology, attended the conference online. More than 140 representatives and guests from domestic universities, enterprises, and public institutions registered to attend the conference. Canjoy as a member unit was fortunate to participate in this conference."

The meeting was first opened by a welcoming speech from Vice President Zhengbiao Gu of Jiangnan University. Vice President Gu first thanked the online and offline guests for attending and warmly congratulated the conference for its successful opening. He then introduced the current situation of Jiangnan University and its packaging engineering major, and gave important instructions on the work of the new committee. He said that Jiangnan University is willing to actively organize various resources and support the work of the science and technology committee, and strive to create a good environment for the work of the science and technology committee.

Professor Xinchang Zhang, Secretary-General of the 2nd Committee of the Science and Technology Committee, made a report on the work of the 2nd Committee. He first summarized the achievements and shortcomings of the last committee, and then put forward five points of imagined thought on the work of the new committee. Secretary-General Zhang hopes to create a new situation for the work of the science and technology committee under the guidance of China Packaging Federation, under the leadership of Director Junhua Zhao, and with the support of all members, and make new contributions to the scientific and technological progress of the packaging industry.

The third item on the agenda was the General Assembly of the 3rd Committee of the Science and Technology Committee, which was continued to be presided over by Deputy Secretary-General Zhenyang Hu. First, Secretary-General Xinchang Zhang gave a brief explanation of the preparations for the change of committee; then, the conference staff read out China Packaging Federation's reply on the change of committee work of the science and technology committee, which determined that Junhua Zhao was elected as the Director and Fangping Wu and 26 others were elected as Deputy Directors, and Xinchang Zhang as Secretary-General. The meeting voted and passed the third representative conference election method and the proposal of the supervisors and vote counters.

In this election, the Chairman of Canjoy, Fangping Wu, was elected as a Deputy Director, and the Technical Director, Jing Zhou, was elected as a member, fully reflecting the recognition and expectations of the Science and Technology Committee for the status of the Canjoy.

During the conference, Chairman Fangping Wu, as the elected Deputy Director, delivered a passionate speech, sharing the current situation and development trends of the active packaging industry, as well as the significant value of the industry research activities being carried out by the Science and Technology Committee.  He stated that he is willing to take on responsibilities, with the mission of leading the sustainable development of the industry, and contributing to the industry as a Canjoy power with the support of the Science and Technology Committee.

In the future, Canjoy will take this opportunity to strengthen cooperation with universities and industry platforms in terms of production, learning, and research, to achieve technological empowerment and innovation.

Introduction to the Science and Technology Committee of China Packaging Federation

The Science and Technology Committee of the China Packaging Federation is one of the 25 professional committees of the China Packaging Federation, and it is a cross-disciplinary organization of the packaging industry that is composed of groups and units such as national relevant technology and industrial management departments, packaging production enterprises, research units, colleges, packaging and decoration design units, packaging raw and auxiliary material supporting enterprises, and packaging user enterprises, as well as packaging technology personnel and management officials. It is a mass-based scientific and technological and academic group.

The Science and Technology Committee of the China Packaging Federation is dedicated to the scientific and technological innovation and application promotion of the packaging industry, with the mission of improving the research level of the packaging industry, promoting the technical exchange of the packaging industry, and promoting the development of the packaging industry. It carries out technology service work for the entire packaging industry and related industries through the expert committee and expert workstations of the Science and Technology Committee of the China Packaging Federation.
